Job description

General Cleaner

We are currently hiring for a Part-Time General Cleaner at a warehouse located on the east side of Madison.

The position pays $15.50 per hour, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

We are seeking dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented individuals with previous cleaning experience. Spanish-speaking applicants are welcome to apply.

Floor Care Responsibilities
  • Sweep, mop, and dust mop hard-surface floors.
  • Clean stairwells, handrails, hallways, and interior windows.
  • Perform approximately 90% floor care duties.
  • Operate floor care equipment, including floor scrubbers and carpet extractors.
  • Use a backpack vacuum as needed.
Additional Daily Responsibilities
  • Clean tables and microwaves in dining areas.
  • Restock condiments and paper products.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain the coffee machine.
  • Break down cardboard boxes.
  • Remove trash and recycling.
  • Clean and maintain four restrooms.
  • Keep restrooms fully stocked with necessary supplies.

Steel-toe shoes are required, and reimbursement is available.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Dust desktops, cabinet tops, partitions, and other surfaces.
  • Empty wastebaskets and recycling containers and transport materials to designated disposal areas.
  • Sweep and mop hard-surface floors.
  • Vacuum floors using upright vacuums and/or backpack vacuums.
  • Spot-clean carpets.
  • Clean glass surfaces and areas.
  • Clean and disinfect sinks, countertops, toilets, mirrors, floors, and other restroom surfaces.
  • Clean and maintain restrooms and ensure supplies are properly stocked.
  • Polish metal fixtures, fittings, and other metal surfaces.
  • Follow all company safety standards and procedures.
  • Perform other duties or work in assigned areas as directed by the customer or manager.

Minimum Qualifications & Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift while performing assigned duties.
  • Ability to frequently bend, lift, carry, reach, and extend arms above shoulder level.
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working with cleaning products and chemicals.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
