Job description

Summary

The Senior Group Director, Shoes leads the end-to-end merchandising vision and category strategy for shoes across the U.S., driving commercial performance and assortment differentiation for boutiques and multi-brand partners. This role partners with global counterparts and U.S. retail teams to translate client insights into assortment architecture, pricing, and lifecycle decisions. The position also leads and develops the U.S. shoes merchandising team to deliver growth and protect brand equity.

Responsibilities
  • Define and execute the U.S. merchandising strategy for Shoes, aligning collection vision with local market needs.
  • Own category performance by setting business objectives, commercial targets, and pricing approach.
  • Lead assortment planning and lifecycle management to maximize sales, inventory efficiency, and client retention.
  • Partner with global merchandising, retail, visual merchandising, supply chain, and planning to ensure product reaches the right markets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with multi-brand retail partners and lead regular business reviews to drive distribution and assortment decisions.
  • Lead talent development, team architecture, and succession planning for the Shoes merchandising team.
Requirements
  • 12+ years of experience in luxury merchandising with strong expertise in Shoes and the U.S. luxury market.
  • Proven track record managing category P&L, commercial performance, and assortment strategies.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and strategic planning skills with the ability to translate insights into action.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience building and developing high-performing teams; excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred. Willingness to travel up to 25% (domestic and international).
