Job description

Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for the implementation, execution, and monitoring of the operational plans, programs, and projects to meet overall contractual and shipyard objectives. This position is responsible for all ship repair operations and shipyard personnel. This position will initiate and lead project oversight, trades, trade manning levels, profitability, schedule, safety, and quality with the assistance of other support departments. Oversight includes assisting with, developing and executing to annual sales and profitability goals. Must collaborate with the Executive Management Team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure including facilities, processes and personnel designed to accommodate the growth objectives of the company, and the shipyard specifically.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all Programs and Operations for Shipyard
  • Drive schedule and profitability of all projects to meet or achieve contractual requirements
  • Enforce existing policies and standard operating procedures and proactively lead continuous improvement in the department.
  • Must be able to manage 25-30 projects simultaneously with the help of the Program Teams, as well as 300 trades employees.
  • Develop short- and long-term plans that meet the needs of all projects to include manning estimates and yard schedule for vessel movements, including dockings and un-dockings working with the Director of Projects
  • Management of Operations Department, to include all execution levels for both Government and Commercial projects. Assist with make or buy decisions, and overall business decisions regarding rates, fees, and mark-ups of each bid.
Compensation/Benefits
  • Salary is negotiable $150-200K, bonus, relocation assistance, company vehicle, medical, dental and retirement.
