The Royal Caribbean Group's Supply Chain Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Manager, Project Procurement reporting to the Senior Manager, Procurement.
This position is onsite and based in Miami, Florida.
This position is also not eligible for work authorization sponsorship.
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for leading the planning, execution and monitoring phases of procurement projects as well as the procurement of materials, equipment, services, and subcontracting activities for Newbuild, Fleet Modernization, or Private Destinations projects. This position will liaise with multi-site teams and engage in large scale, multi-year, complex contracting for large capital projects. This position challenges technical specifications, commercial practices, and business processes with a focus on driving cost-effective operations. Strong sourcing, contractual writing and negotiating skills are required. The incumbent will work closely with most areas of Supply Chain, Newbuild organization, Brand Operations, Finance, and Project Controls teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Leading the procurement of materials, equipment, services, and subcontracts for Newbuild and Fleet Solutions.
  • Position leads a procurement task force team assigned to the project responsible for supplier relationships to ensure alignment with project strategy and goals.
  • Role challenges technical specifications, commercial practices, operating practices, and business processes with a focus on management, cost control, sourcing, communication, and negotiating.
  • Charged with the efficient and effective material control of the project procurement requirements from planning through sourcing, expediting, transport, and receipt.
  • This role is the single point of contact between the Supply Chain Team and the project team for assigned project(s).
  • Lead timely resolution of sophisticated supplier issues.
  • Collaborate closely and frequently with Project Buyers, Category Managers, Fulfillment, and Logistics.
  • Run and analyze material status reports and communicate risks and problem areas to project teams regularly.
  • Must be capable of building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Leads development of procurement and negotiation strategy based on multiple and often complex variables and lead contract negotiations.
  • Work closely with supported business areas and functional organizations to ensure stability and cost efficiency of supply.
  • Conduct, communicate, and respond to changing market conditions and business drivers on a global basis to improve supply position and minimize risk.

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent job experience
  • Large Capex project experience
  • Shipyard or contractor contracts experience
  • 10+ years' experience in Procurement, Technical, Engineering, Commercial or Project Environment
  • Accreditation from Supply Chain Industry organization (i.e. CPSM, CPIM)
  • Learn/work in multiple systems/tools such as JDE, Databases, Microsoft Office, MS Project, etc.
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiating skills
  • Self-starter, strong influencing, communication, and facilitative skills
  • Flexibility/adaptability to changing priorities, multiple internal customers
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural environment with all levels of internal and external customers
  • Ability to bring teams together to resolve issues and achieve targets and goals
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing and procurement work processes and solutions
  • Sense of ownership and urgency
  • Ability to travel domestic and international, up to 20% of the time
