Job description

Green Chain Puller - Mill
A Green Chain Puller is a physically demanding, entry-level sawmill position responsible for pulling, sorting, and stacking, freshly cut ("green") lumber from a moving conveyor chain by grade, size, and length.
Job is fast-paced and involves intense physical labor during the entire shift.
Must have reliable transportation to the job site.Requirements
  • Previous Experience in green chain position is preferred, although it is not required for the job.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Subject to pre-employment drug screening (non THC) and criminal background check.
Job Duties
  • Offloading dimensional lumber off of a chain and sorting for shipping and storage.
  • Operating machinery and tools used in the green chain process.
  • Work at a fast-paced and sorting lumber as they move through the line.
  • Communicate effectively and safely with other team members.
  • The position will include lifting lumber repeatedly for the duration of shift.
  • Must be able to work in fast pace environment consistently and safely to keep up with the current flow of production.
  • Physical attributes of the job consist of the following: lift and move up to 50 lbs daily, standing up to 10 hours a day, reach with hands and arms, climbing stairs, stoop and bend at the waist, and move equipment as needed.
Schedule
  • Swing Shift: Sunday 2:30pm to 12:00am, and Monday-Thursday is 3:30pm to 1:00am.
  • Day Shift: Monday-Friday, 5:30am to 3:00pm
Rate of Pay
  • $19.00 per hour to start
