Job description

Position Title: Shipping Specialist
Department: Keepflo
Location: Fenton, MO
Reports To: Shipping Supervisor, Manager, Shipping
Classification: Hourly - Non-Exempt
Shift: 8am-4pm Monday-Friday
Position Summary
Assists with tasks associated with processing Keepflo shipments. This position will primarily pick and pack Keepflo open orders, identify part numbers and quantities, create invoices and packing slips for outgoing shipments, perform cycle counting and department audits, and support the entire Shipping team. Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
Essential Job Duties
  • Process documentation for all Keepflo open orders, including small parcel and domestic LTL shipments.
  • Schedule small parcel pickups with FedEx and UPS.
  • Develop good customer relationships to improve business performance.
  • Communicate with Sales/Service and other functional areas to resolve customer problems in a timely manner.
  • Assist with order picking and packing in the Quick Ship Department.
  • Perform departmental audits.
  • Provide administrative support to warehouse staff, including data entry, shipping labels, and other computer-based tasks.
  • Create bills of lading, assemble shipping documentation, and contact freight carriers as needed.
  • Ensure picking, receiving, and shipping accuracy.
  • Maintain hands-on involvement in small package, LTL, TL, returns, receiving, and other shipping operations.
  • Coordinate the flow of pick orders, processing, and packaging of material to be shipped.
  • Load and unload trucks as needed, verifying items and processing paperwork.
  • Assist with physical inventory, discrepancy resolution, and cycle counting as required.
  • Post weights and shipping charges and prepare goods for final shipment.
  • Ensure shipments are labeled and packaged according to Company specifications.
  • Follow approved procedures for shipping, material storage, shipping preparation, order picking, and order staging.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, workstation, and shipping supply areas neat and orderly and complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education
  • High School Diploma or GED; college degree preferred.

Required Experience
  • 1-3 years of experience working in a shipping and receiving environment.
  • 1-3 years of experience processing shipments.
  • Proficiency creating UPS and FedEx bills of lading manually or through a website interface.
  • Other special training relevant to the position.
  • Solid understanding of shipping operations and associated processes.
  • Understanding of documentation for processing domestic LTL and small parcel shipping.

Required Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize duties.
  • Ability to enter data quickly and accurately.
