Job description

Rugby Architectural Building Products is a wholesale distributor of specialty building products, operating out of 26 branches throughout the United States. Our primary business is non-structural architectural grade building products sold principally to customers who create and produce end-products for the commercial, industrial, retail, residential and institutional markets. (In New Century, KS, Lebanon, TN, and Rockford, IL – we do business as: Olathe Millwork, Warren Brothers, River City Millwork respectfully.)

Position Summary: The Shipping and Receiving Clerk organizes and tracks daily shipments and aids in providing total customer satisfaction by the selling and promoting Rugby Architectural Building Products and services to existing and new customers. This role works primarily in our Door Shop and assists in receiving product from vendors and staging and managing shipments to our customers.

What You Will Do:

  • Processes tickets for warehouse shipping
  • Ordering, receiving, assigning of materials and work orders for shop
  • Create paperwork for truck routes and delivery tickets for next day’s delivery
  • Develop processes, spreadsheets, and procedures to maximize productivity
  • Maintain customer communications and coordinate logistics in various projects and assignments
  • Proactively stays informed of daily happenings and potential adjustments
  • Answering customer inquiries and resolving customer complaints
  • Work safely, attend safety meetings and follow all safety procedures and policies
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required
  • Assist branch truck driver by loading and securing material in the truck in a manner that assures no damage in transit

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift extremely heavy awkward products repeatedly to store, removes from storage for fabrication, or load onto a truck 50-100 lbs. with a helper
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of frequency and intensity in other physical activities such as reaching, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling and crouching
  • You will be exposed to modest amounts of cold, heat, dust, fumes and noise

Who We Are Looking For:

  • 1+ years experienced warehouse person
  • Fast paced environment for someone who is quick, but safety conscientious
  • Able to successfully pass a Valid OSHA approved forklift certification
  • Lumber yard experience a plus
  • Must be highly quality minded in all job functions
  • Good oral communication, employee relations and customer service skills
  • Previous experience in shipping/receiving helpful
  • Demonstrated computer & basic math skills
  • Experience with inventory management
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve
