Job description

UNCLASSIFIED POSITION IN THE FULTON COOUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required, supplemented by vocational or technical training in receiving, inventory management or a related field and two (2) years of experience in inventory management; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license (as required by position assignment). Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) including appropriate endorsement(s) (to be obtained within six (6) months of employment - as required by position assignment); and authorization by the State of Georgia Department of Revenue to sign title receipts on behalf of Fulton County Government (to be obtained within six (6) months of employment - as required by position assignment).

Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all county or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position. Purpose of Classification: The purpose of this classification is to perform warehouse duties and inventory control functions for a specific Fulton County warehouse or facility. Essential Functions: The following duties are normal for this position.

The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned. Performs storeroom/warehouse duties: assists with various shipping and receiving tasks, organizes and maintains the stockroom, issues parts and supplies, and processes returned damaged or defective merchandise; makes deliveries and operates material handling equipment; fulfill customer orders for material; creates, implements and oversees an appropriate labeling system for all equipment and material stored in warehouse.

Performs computerized duties related to inventory control: maintains inventories as required, selects vendors as authorized, and maintains vendor lists; reviews invoices for accuracy and completeness related to price, product quality, and services provided; maintains parts manuals, price lists, and suppliers' catalogs to obtain, verify, and provide information from vendors regarding purchase and delivery of equipment, supplies, and materials; performs computerized inventory control and fixed asset duties, including operating bar code scanning equipment and generating reports; tracks the flow of parts through an automated inventory system and provides reports to support budget forecast; processes parts invoices and receipts. Additional Functions: Performs other related duties as required. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: *All applicants must agree to and successfully pass a background investigation, drug screening and polygraph to be considered for employment with the Fulton County Sheriff's Office.* EXAMINATION: The examination will consist of a review of education and experience, accomplished by analysis of the application

Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to apply principles of rational systems; to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form; and to exercise independent judgment to adopt or modify methods and standards to meet variations in assigned objectives.
