Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3'5 years of logistics, shipping, or receiving experience in a manufacturing environment.

Position Overview:

The Shipping & Receiving Lead drives logistics execution through structured planning, project-focused coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives within a fastpaced aerospace manufacturing environment. This role leads shipping, receiving, and materialflow projects that ensure accuracy, compliance, and ontime support for production programs involving aerospace fittings, bar stock, forgings, and other critical components.

This position ensures compliance with aerospace AS9100 quality standards, safety regulations, OSHA regulations'' and on-time delivery emphasizing speed and accuracy, while supporting team productivity and cross-department coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily logistics operations as structured projects with defined goals, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
  • Manage shipping, receiving, inventory, and materialflow initiatives to improve delivery performance and reduce bottlenecks.
  • Serve as project lead during supervisor absence, ensuring continuity of workflow and cross-team alignment.
  • Assign tasks, direct daily priorities, and monitor progress to ensure throughput and productivity goals are met.
  • Provide coaching, training, and hands-on support to logistics personnel.
  • Maintain accountability for document accuracy, packaging quality, certifications, and compliance deliverables.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute outbound shipments to customers, processors, and suppliers.
  • Validate pick lists, packing slips, certifications, and bills of lading for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure proper material packaging, labeling, and export compliance where required.
  • Oversee project-based receiving workflows for raw materials such as bar stock, forgings, hardware, and aerospace components.
  • Verify materials against purchase orders and documentation.
  • Coordinate receiving inspection projects with the Quality team to maintain traceability and standards compliance.
  • Execute inventory control projects, including cycle counts, audits, FIFO rotation, and ERP/MRP transaction accuracy.
  • Improve staging, storage, and materialflow efficiency through 5S and lean-focused initiatives.
  • Manage traceability, lot control, and chainofcustody documentation to support AS9100 and NADCAP requirements.
  • Partner with Production Planning, Quality Assurance, Procurement, and Manufacturing to resolve material shortages, prevent delays, and keep production projects on schedule.
  • Communicate risks proactively and escalate issues impacting delivery commitments.
  • Lead safetyfocused initiatives and ensure adherence to handling procedures, forklift operation standards, and auditready work environments.
  • Support hazardousmaterial handling requirements where applicable.
