Position Summary:

This position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods within our company. You will be responsible for both shipping outgoing orders and receiving incoming materials, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

Essential Job Functions: 

Shipping:

  • Prepare orders for shipment, customers, and vendors. 
  • Weigh and label units for shipment. 
  • Record serial numbers, type and number of units put into inventory. 
  • Box units to be shipped. 
  • Complete shipping documentation for foreign shipments. 
  • Confirm accuracy of shipped quantities of some products by data entry.

Receiving:

  • Count and record materials received. 
  • Process appropriate written documentation regarding materials received. 
  • Distribute materials to manufacturing and other departments. 
  • Count inventory weekly and balance stock against shipments. 
  • Maintain appropriate levels of manufacturing supplies and order or purchase items as needed. 
  • Unload trucks. 
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment. 
  • Receive and inspect some incoming raw material.

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Other duties as assigned. 
  • Stock materials as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age. 
  • High School diploma or equivalent required 
  • Good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to read and write the English language and complete job related documentation required. 
  • Ability to work on an independent basis. 
  • Ability to count materials by hand and by scale required. 
  • Strong attention to detail required. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft programs and basic computer skills; minimum typing speed 25 wpm required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.
  • Ability to stand for 80% of the workday. 
  • Ability to maneuver a two-wheel cart/hand truck. 
  • Data entry experience required. 
  • Regular and reliable attendance, required. 

To Excel:

  • Previous shipping/receiving experience preferred, but not required.
  • Forklift certification preferred, but not required.
