Job description

We are looking for a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our team!
Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm M-F
Job Responsibilities
  • Pickup material from cells & manufacturing locations throughout the plant and process for shipment.
  • Package material and over-pack cartons when required.
  • Label outgoing material with appropriate documents as required.
  • Prepare skids and cartons for shipment Including packing, banding, shrink wrapping, crating and applying cautionary labels.
  • Prepare required domestic/export paperwork or other documents required for shipment.
  • Create bill of lading and assign carrier pro numbers. Match and verify shipment contents when loading to ensure proper dispatch.
  • Schedule pickups with local freight carriers as required.
  • Receives incoming shipments and delivers to appropriate destination locations.
  • Prepare material and required documents for goods requiring additional operations.
  • Expedites parts for cells and provides updates for parts at outside operations.
  • Match paperwork with cartons of incoming and outgoing material to verify appropriate contents. Counts incoming parts for possible part shortages as appropriate.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and similar issues.
  • Collect, store and process scrap, including operating a cardboard bale.
  • Load and unload materials including indirect materials, outgoing parcels and skids, scrap, and recyclables to/from common carriers at loading dock.
  • Enters data into an automated inventory control system using a computer.
  • Store and archive transaction documents and provide as required.
  • Conducts physical inventory of parts and maintains storage areas in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Maintains work area in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Perform similar, comparable, or related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications
  • Must have proficient English reading and writing skills and be able to read and comprehend MSDS sheets and standard work instructions. High School Diploma/GED is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft windows-based computer programs.
  • Possesses knowledge of both carrier supplied and internet based shipping software - UPS Worldship, Fed-Ex Internet Shipping is preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize work, self-starter, organized, detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Operate material handling equipment: manual and powered pallet jacks, hand trucks, forklift, balers and scales.
  • Physical Demands:
    • Regularly exerting up to 20 lbs of force and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
    • Bending body downward and forward at the waist.
    • Standing for sustained periods of time.
    • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks.
