Position Summary:
The Delivery & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for all functions of product distribution including receiving, storing, and shipping materials and products. The Delivery & Receiving Coordinator will report directly to the Operations Manager. The Operations Manager will provide insight and training to the Delivery & Receiving Coordinator so that the Delivery & Receiving Coordinator is prepared to take over the roles and responsibilities of the Production Manager. The rest of the job description highlights the same roles as the Operations Manager. The expectation is that the Delivery & Receiving Coordinator becomes proficient in the responsibilities to be prepared to move to that role and/or provide additional leadership on the floor.
Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Establishes, follows, and enforces environmental health and safety standards/procedures in compliance with organizational guidelines and ISO 14001, ensure that all required safety and compliance training is completed
  • Responsible for managing distribution operational activities within budgetary standards
  • Assesses warehouse layout to ensure distribution efficiency
  • Analyze inventory variances and mis-shipments to initiate root-cause analysis with corrective actions
  • Manage the timely and accurate loading of outbound deliveries to meet all delivery requirements
  • Ensure the accuracy and efficient receipt of inbound shipments to meet all receiving requirements
  • Ensure proper receipt recording and reporting to material planner
  • Coordinate staffing across departments to complete daily operation, while minimizing overtime
  • Host communication and check in meetings with departments
  • Validate that daily staffing meets operational needs and plan for future staffing needs
  • Complete and delegate countermeasures and action items that are identified for department improvement
  • Ensure each employee has all tools necessary to do their job
  • Audit shipping and receiving areas to ensure housekeeping, safety, and quality standards are met
  • Have appropriate performance management conversations with team members including verbal communication, write ups, final warnings, and terminations
  • Interview, onboard, and train new hire employees into warehouse and driver positions
  • Pareto and create countermeasures for quality defects and mis-shipments
  • Work closely with the warehouse to build trucks using information obtained in Oracle based on customer orders.

Qualifications / Requirements:
  • 2-4 years of distribution experience
  • Minimum of 1-year managerial experience
  • ERP experience required; Oracle preferred
  • Forklift certified
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of inventory management
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong organization and planning skills
