Warehouse Shipping & Receiving Clerk

About Us: Quality Distribution, LLC., a leading Third-Party Warehouse and Distribution Company based in Utah, is currently seeking a full-time Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse operations team. We are conveniently located just 2 miles West of the Salt Lake International Airport.

Job Summary:

The Shipping/Receiving Clerk will be responsible for attending to the receiving window to assist truck drivers as they check in. They will manage shipping and receiving for trucks throughout the day and coordinate next steps by communicating with account managers and the warehouse team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Attending the receiving window and assisting drivers during check-in.
  • Receive goods, verify counts of items unloaded from trucks and trailers, input load information into the computer, and initiate paperwork process.
  • Maintain a database of shipment data to ensure accurate updates of customer orders and provide necessary billing documents to account managers or other departments as required.
  • Notify the appropriate department of discrepancies or mis-shipments.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure timely loading or unloading of drivers.
  • Work with the warehouse manager and assistant manager to maintain smooth warehouse operations.
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • English speaking (bilingual in Spanish preferred)
  • 1-2 years of experience in the transportation/warehousing industry
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and Outlook
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to adapt to and manage change effectively.
  • Ability to handle challenging or conflict situations with tact and professionalism.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Physical Demands:

This job requires routine manual tasks involving dexterity, sitting, standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Occasionally, lifting objects up to 50 pounds may be necessary. Specific vision abilities such as close vision and adjusting focus are needed.

Work Environment:

Employees may encounter cold temperatures and moderate to loud noise levels depending on the office or warehouse setting.

Working Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
