Shipping & Receiving Team Leader (2nd Shift) - Lake Orion, Michigan
Day Shift - Contract Position
Pay Rate: $30.00 per hour
*2nd Shift position - Must be willing to train on 1st Shift for 2-3 weeks
Summary of the Shipping & Receiving Team Leader:
This is a hands-on position responsible for the Supervision and coordinating of shipping, receiving in the Distribution Center. Oversee or perform all clerical aspects of the position. Work closely with Logistics Manager/Warehouse Supervisor in coordinating the activities.
Position Responsibilities of the Shipping & Receiving Team Leader:
  • Supervise/Lead including shipping and receiving personnel to ensure customer requirements are met in a timely manner
  • Ensure all department personnel are trained to perform their duties effectively
  • Ensure training matrix's and training events are updated and maintained as required
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse
  • Utilize first-in/first-out procedure and coordinate physical inventory activities including cycle counts of the warehouse and work in process areas
  • Approve and coordinate paid time off for team members, as well as approve timecards
  • Conduct performance reviews
  • Discipline employees as necessary
  • Other duties as required

Required Skills and Experience of the Shipping & Receiving Team Leader:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Three-years of logistics experience involving shipping & receiving activities and some customer interface
  • Basic computer skills and office equipment (facsimile, scanner, copier)
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate with all departments
  • Good decision making skills, self motivated, and work independently with minimum supervision
  • Detail oriented
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds
  • Capable of climbing portable ladders and excessive walking, when necessary
  • High visual demand

Preferred Skills of the Shipping & Receiving Team Leader:
  • Some college coursework
  • Previous shipping and receiving experience in the automotive industry
  • Previous supervisory experience
