Shipping Manager Assistant
Location: Clearwater, FL
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Manager Assistant to support daily shipping and warehouse operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position plays an important role in ensuring outbound shipments are packaged accurately, documented properly, and delivered on schedule. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and enjoys working in a hands-on warehouse setting.
Responsibilities
Shipping & Order Fulfillment
  • Assist with preparing and processing outbound shipments of industrial equipment and components, including assembling crates and packaging products.
  • Verify outgoing orders against packing lists, sales orders, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure accuracy.
  • Coordinate with freight carriers, including LTL, FTL, parcel, and international shipping providers, to schedule pickups and deliveries.
  • Prepare shipping documentation including bills of lading, packing slips, commercial invoices, and export paperwork.
  • Apply shipping labels and ensure products are packaged and labeled correctly.
  • Track shipments and communicate shipping updates to internal departments and customers as needed.
Warehouse & Inventory Support
  • Maintain an organized and efficient shipping and staging area.
  • Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to ensure completed products are ready for shipment.
  • Process return merchandise authorizations (RMAs) and assist with return shipments.
Documentation & Systems
  • Enter and maintain shipment information within ERP or warehouse management systems.
  • File shipping records, freight invoices, and carrier documentation.
  • Assist with freight claims involving damaged or lost shipments.
  • Support compliance with export regulations and shipping requirements when applicable.
Team Support
  • Assist the Shipping Manager with scheduling, daily workflow, and shipping priorities.
  • Communicate with customer service, sales, warehouse, and production teams regarding shipment status and urgent orders.
  • Support receiving operations during busy periods or when additional coverage is needed.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1–3 years of experience in shipping, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with shipping documentation including bills of lading, packing slips, and commercial invoices.
  • Basic computer skills with accurate data entry experience.
  • Experience using ERP or warehouse management systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
