Job Overview

Gourmet Foods International is seeking a motivated, hands-on Shipping Supervisor to oversee daily outbound shipping operations within our distribution center. This position leads the shipping team, ensures products are shipped accurately and efficiently, maintains inventory integrity, and promotes a safe, organized, and productive work environment.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced warehouse environment and is committed to operational excellence, food safety, and employee development.

What does your day look like? Some of your duties may include:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily outbound shipping operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and on-time deliveries
  • Lead, coach, and support shipping team members to achieve productivity, quality, and performance goals
  • Monitor compliance with warehouse procedures, food safety standards, company policies, and safety regulations
  • Ensure proper product handling, rotation, staging, and loading procedures are followed
  • Coordinate workflow and labor resources to meet daily shipping demands
  • Track employee attendance, labor hours, and overtime to support operational efficiency
  • Maintain shipping documentation and ensure order accuracy
  • Ensure shipping areas remain clean, organized, and prepared for the next shift
  • Maintain the safety, quality, and legality of food products throughout the shipping process
  • Collaborate with Receiving, Inventory Control, Transportation, and Operations teams to resolve issues and improve efficiencies
  • Assist with continuous process improvement initiatives and operational problem-solving

Things you need to be able to do:

  • 2–3 years of warehouse, shipping, or distribution experience
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a warehouse environment
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, carry up to 50 pounds, and push or pull up to 30 pounds of force
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday
  • Ability to ascend and descend steps up to 10 inches in height
  • Ability to work in refrigerated and cold warehouse environments for extended periods
  • Consistent, regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position. Employees must be able to work scheduled shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed to support business and operational needs.
