Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The shipping & receiving associate is responsible for the safe, accurate, and shall follow established approved processes to package prescription medication in a compliant manner to ensure the integrity of prescriptions are intact, that are to be shipped via USPS/FedEx or sent via courier service. The shipping & receiving associate is also responsible for maintaining ongoing and complete records of all outgoing products shipped and incoming packaging supplies and associated assigned inventory received at the mail order pharmacy. The packaging supplies and associated assigned inventory shall be organized within a manner to allow for the efficient use of storage space and inventory management.
Position: Shipping & Receiving Associate
Department: Mail Order Pharmacy
Schedule: Full Time, 40 hours (Rotating shifts and able to work every 5th Sunday).
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
  • Place completed prescription medication into appropriate packing container and use associated supplies to ensure product integrity is maintained throughout the shipping process. This process shall include but is not limited to preparing contents for shipment by weighing, labeling, and recording information about each package within the shipping software.
  • Building and maintaining a comprehensive auditing trail for all outgoing packages using shipping software. Consolidating shipping orders when appropriate
  • Run status reports with carriers, Follow up on missing, damaged, and/or late Packages. File reports with carriers to recoup any applicable losses.
  • Responsible for ensuring that packages make it safely to their destination by securely sealing each container. Must be able to use hand tools, adhesives, padding, and other products to protect package contents following approved guidelines regarding proper packaging.
  • Must ensure shipping patient/clinic mailing/destination address label is accurate to ensure package arrives at the designated locations within set time.
  • Acknowledge receipt and unpacking of shipment deliveries to maintain accurate and reliable records of incoming items. Keep complete records of all materials that go through the warehouse.
  • Organize shipping supplies and associated inventory.
  • Maintain a clean work area, adhere to all company safety standards and protocols. Observe workplace to identify areas for improvement.
  • Adheres to all of BMC's RESPECT behavioral standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
  • High School Diploma/GED

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Achieve requirements necessary to be recognized by the MA Board of Pharmacy as a Technician in Training
  • Possess a valid MA pharmacy technician in training license
  • A valid pharmacy technician license will be required prior to the expiration of the pharmacy technician in training license

EXPERIENCE:
  • 1-2 years of similar work experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize assigned tasks.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong communication skills and desire to work with other team members.
  • Ability to learn and operate warehouse equipment with skill safely
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft products such as Excel and Outlook

Compensation Range:
$18.27- $25.72
This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
