Position Summary

Performs basic daily shipping duties to ensure accurate and on time shipments. This includes picking, packing, and using devices and system guidance.

Key Responsibilities

Shipping 1 will be expected to consistently deliver outstanding outcomes in the following areas:

  1. Use handheld scanners and computers to scan items and enter data into Business
    Central.
  2. Pull items from bin locations based on pick tickets, ensuring accuracy and efficiency with guidance from higher level employees.
  3. Verify order accuracy by double checking Item, quantities, shipping labels and condition to ensure correct shipments.
  4. Pack, seal, and label products for shipment.
  5. Stage completed orders in designated shipping areas.
  6. Maintain clean, organized and safe shipping area in compliance with company standards.
  7. Follow all safety rules and basic work instructions.
  8. Work in other departments as needed.
  9. Ability to read and identify lot numbers, items numbers, dates and bin locations.
  10. Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

This role requires strong attention to detail and shipment accuracy, efficient order picking, packing, and staging, basic computer and handheld scanner proficiency, adherence to safety and workplace organization standards, the ability to follow written and verbal procedures, flexibility to support multiple warehouse functions, and the physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, lift materials, and meet daily productivity deadlines in a fast-paced shipping environment.

Education, Experience & Skills

  1. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
  2. Prior warehouse, shipping, receiving, or manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
  3. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  4. Basic math, reading, and communication skills required.
  5. Ability to use computers, scanners, or shipping software preferred.
  6. Ability to operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment (training may be provided).
  7. Ability to load/unload trucks.
  8. Ability to meet productivity standards and deadlines.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

  1. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; lift, carry, push and pull materials up to fifty (50) pounds (with or without assistance); bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and twist frequently; use hands and arms for grasping, handling, and operating shipping equipment; perform repetitive motions; climb ladders or stairs as needed; read labels and shipping documents; and work in varying warehouse temperatures, noise levels, and fast-paced conditions while maintaining safe work practices.
  2. Manual dexterity for scanning, labeling, and packaging.
  3. Work may occur around moving equipment, loading docks, varying temperatures, noise, and food allergen operations.
  4. Frequent use of computers, handheld scanners, phones, and standard office or warehouse equipment.
