Franz Family Bakery was founded in 1906 in the Pacific Northwest and has become one of country's most successful bakeries. We produce a variety of baked products, marketed under a wide range of premium labels, all made with quality ingredients and a superior baking process. We employ over 4,000 employees and distribute our products in Alaska, Idaho, California, Utah, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. Franz and Dunford are now combined in Utah!
We are seeking a part-time shift Shipping Checker to join our great night team at Dunford. The Shipping Checker will perform shipping and receiving duties in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Shipping Checker will pull and organize orders according to product ordered and prepare the orders for shipping.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Read orders in English and load trays of bakery product onto transport racks, pallets or trucks as per order.
  • Physically shuttle transport racks to designated staging areas for eventual loading into transport trucks.
  • Assist in the loading of transport trucks with transport racks.
  • *Must be able to lift 40 pounds repeatedly.*
  • Worker must be able to constantly stand and walk on concrete or wood surfaces, including transport trailer beds.
  • *Frequent pushing and pulling of heavy transport racks, dollies and carts is necessary.
  • *Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, lifting, carrying of heavy items is required.
  • Repetitive use of both upper extremities for loading transport carts with heavy bakery product trays.
  • Frequent to constant handling and grasping of heavy bakery product trays, transport racks, carts, etc.
  • Additional duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements:
  • SHIFT & HOURS: New employees can be assigned to any work day: 11am-3:00pm, based upon production needs. Saturdays off with another separate day off, based upon production needs.
  • High school graduate or GED a plus.
  • Previous experience in similar shipping/receiving environment at a large commercial bakery is a plus.
  • Work experience in other similar industrial, manufacturing or a production-line environment may substitute.
  • Ability to work in a high temperature environment supporting fast paced machinery.
  • Ability to quickly learn new job tasks and flexibility to work in different jobs as needed.
  • Must be able to work any day, including holidays, or any shift.
  • Must have reliable attendance to meet employer's attendance standards for 24/7 production facility.
  • *Must be able to read, speak and communicate in English.*
  • Must be legally able to work in the U.S. We E-Verify.
