Job description

The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Blast and Shipping departments, ensuring the departments operate successfully, meet quality standards, stay on schedule, and stay within budget.

Qualifications
  • 3-5 years’ experience in logistics, inventory, warehousing, material handling, heavy equipment or shipping.
  • Thorough understanding of DOT Rules and Regulations and familiarity with shipping processes.
  • Clear attention to detail to ensure safe handling of heavy steel members while preparing and loading carrier trailers.
  • At least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, steel fabrication processes, heavy equipment, and freight coordination.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Proficiency in safety regulations and procedures related to steel fabrication.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Able to organize and manage reporting requirements.
  • Attention to detail and precision.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision making, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with Company Management Software/ERP.
Position Expectations

  • Oversee simple rigging operations and occasional heavy or complex rigging.
  • Operate forklifts, cranes, and manlifts, as necessary.
  • Maintain good housekeeping by cleaning and organizing work areas.
  • Ensure that safe working practices are followed.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
