Job description

The Shipping and Receiving Associate performs shipping, receiving, material handling, and inventory management activities. This role maintains accurate records for incoming and outgoing materials, supplies, equipment, and products; stores and distributes materials throughout the warehouse and plant; and prepares items for shipment in accordance with established policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.

What You’ll Do:

  • Prepare and package products for shipment according to customer and regulatory requirements
  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments, inspect for damage, and maintain accurate documentation
  • Use ERP systems to track inventory and process shipments accurately
  • Coordinate pickups and deliveries with carriers and freight companies
  • Build, prepare, and load specialized shipping crates, including nuclear crates, using proper packaging methods and team-lift practices as required.
  • Use customer portals, logistics platforms, and internal systems to process shipments, update records, and support order tracking
  • Perform cycle counts and inventory reconciliations as required
  • Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and create required documentation, including Certificates of Conformance (CofCs), export forms, and shipping related documents
  • Communicate with the Shipping and Receiving team and cross-functional partners to respond to customer order inquiries and provide updates on delivery status or product availability
  • Maintain a clean and organized shipping and receiving area in line with 5S standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring:

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years’ experience in shipping, receiving, inventory control, warehouse, or related roles
  • Ability to read and understand shipping, packing, and work instructions
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn internal systems, customer portals, and shipping platforms
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification through company-provided training
  • Strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience using ERP systems, shipping software, customer portals, or logistics platforms
  • Familiarity with LTL and freight processes, including bill of lading creation and carrier coordination
  • Ability to use measuring tools to verify package dimensions and weight
  • Experience or comfort using basic carpentry tools, such as nail guns, saws, or other hand and power tools, to build or modify shipping crates.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to machinery, moving equipment, noise, varying temperatures, and other industrial conditions
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors, including exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions while preparing, loading, and moving materials.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, and stooping for packaging, loading, and unloading tasks
  • Manual dexterity for packaging, labeling, and documentation tasks
  • Visual acuity for verifying shipments and inspecting for damage
