Position Overview

The Receiving Supervisor provides direct oversight and execution of all inbound operations at Capital Health's Central Distribution Warehouse. This role serves as the primary point of accountability for the receiving, inspection and initial processing of inbound freight supporting multiple hospitals and affiliated offsite locations. The Receiving Supervisor also drives operational pace and enforces strict process discipline to ensure consistent throughput and high-quality control standards to support uninterrupted patient care.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Associate's degree in related field. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
Experience: Three years of experience in a supervisory/leadership role within stores and distribution, warehousing, purchasing and inventory control with an emphasis on the receiving process when accompanied by an Associate's degree. Five years of experience in a supervisory/leadership role in stores and distribution, warehousing, purchasing and inventory control with an emphasis on the receiving process when accompanied by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with Accounts Payable functions is preferred.
Other Credentials: Drivers License
Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of receiving and distribution functions. Proficiency in maintaining warehouse systems such as WMS/ERP/MMIS. Advanced interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written formats. Demonstrated commitment to fostering positive customer service relationships.
Special Training: Level 2 Hazardous Materials Awareness training. Certified (or capable of certification) in power pallet jack and forklift operation.
Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities: Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently from start to finish. Proven capacity to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and pivot quickly in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to lead and elevate small teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead all daily receiving activities, overseeing the intake, documentation and redistribution of LTL freight and small parcel deliveries
Establish and enforce daily receiving priorities based on operational demand, backorders and urgent hospital needs
Maintain a clean, organized and safe receiving environment at all times, enforcing strict compliance with all safety protocols
Oversee the proper use and inspection of material handling equipment, including power jacks and forklifts
Maintain steady workflow and prevent dock congestion to ensure all inbound freight is processed efficiently to support downstream operations
Enforce strict inspection protocols by verifying package contents against packing slips and purchase orders to ensure accuracy
Confirm all purchase orders are accurately received within the MMIS/ERP system, ensuring products are properly labeled and sorted by destination
Own the end-to-end returns process for all supported facilities, ensuring proper intake, documentation and staging of return shipments
Manage the generation of outbound shipping labels, distribution of tracking numbers and coordination of billing to originating departments
Serve as the primary point of contact between receiving, purchasing and warehouse operations to streamline communication and resolve issues
Identify and resolve shortages, damages or discrepancies by building direct partnerships with the purchasing team
Ensure compliance with healthcare-specific requirements including lot tracking, expiration date verification and the escalation of short-dated products
Perform other duties as assigned
