We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Quality Assurance department. This position specifically is located in Norfolk, Virginia. We are looking for a NDT Inspector J1-J4. The hours are M-F 0600-1445.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PURPOSE:
Performs predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications for QA inspections and tests required to substantiate conformance to drawings, specifications, and contract requirements. Conducts surveillance audits in all phases and stages during ship repair.POSITION DEMANDS (Education/Training)
Technical/Associate Degree, preferably Q.A./Marine-related or equivalent, or 4 to 6 years of Quality Assurance inspection experience or equivalent trade related. Certified as a Non-Destructive Test Inspector Level II (includes VT, PT, MT, and UT) to NAVSEA TECHPUB requirements. If not certified, must be able to be certified if assigned these duties. Knowledge of ship construction and repair procedures including welding, structural, machinery, electrical piping, ventilation and familiarity with various measuring instruments related to inspections.POSITION DEMANDS (Required Experience)
Must be able to perform the essentials of the position including the ability to work at heights, enter tanks, voids and cofferdams to perform competent person duties.
Must be able to climb vertical ladders, work around moving machinery and perform tasks while using a sky climber, scissor lift and/or condor.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, military standard/specifications, Regulatory Body Requirements, and Shipbuilding Specifications.
Possess a good general knowledge of ship repair procedures and test requirements
