Job description

BASIC POSITION DUTIES:

Planner III/Sr is responsible for production planning for assigned products, creating and maintaining production schedules, creating and managing shop orders, and working with Mfg for best efficiency. Working with customer service in assigned sections and product lines. Persons in this position will execute these functions daily to meet on time delivery targets, production targets, and profit targets as directed by management.

  • Receive and confirm customer orders / Review for forecast accuracy / Negotiate alternate ship dates and quantities when required / Enter manual orders as needed.
  • Manage and maintain customer set up information in MRP system and shared documents for assigned areas.
  • Monitor Back Order Report, review stock levels and next PR run, coordinate schedule changes with Planners if required, work to reduce backorders and expedite costs.
  • Negotiate and resolve disputes with customers on ship timing and freight methods/expense; collaborate with SVW and Third Party WH.
  • Assess stock levels and expedite orders with added fees for special ship requests. Coordinate shipments with sister plants, inspection locations to the SVW.
  • Coordinate Replacement Parts/QA Recall with Customer & Internal QA/Shipping.
  • Coordinate Trial & Sample orders and deliveries with Engineering and Quality groups.

Follow up on PPAP approvals with Customers and internal QA group to ship parts expeditiously; collaborate with SQA on quality issues to release parts for shipping.

  • Work with Sales Groups and Customers daily to meet all SEWS and Customers delivery goals and targets.
  • Crosstrain in other Production Control Associates areas in Planning and Customer Service to support during peak periods and absences.
  • Set up Customer/SEWS Cross Reference Product List. Work with other members of Production Control, Manufacturing, Business Planning, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Shipping Departments daily to meet all goals and targets for SEWS groups.
  • Other duties and assignments as requested by Management.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: BS in related field
  • Experience: 5-7 years progressive material or production control planning responsibility
  • Experience with MRP system and inventory control
  • Proficient in Microsoft office programs - Outlook, Excel, Word
