The Opportunity

As a Working Foreman at Shields, Inc., you will take the lead on premier commercial carpentry and interior projects across the region. You will drive jobsite productivity while working with a supportive company that values your personal well-being and professional growth. This role empowers you to build high-profile projects, mentor skilled crews, and take ownership of field operations.


How You Will Make an Impact

  • Supervise daily field operations to ensure top-quality commercial drywall and interior installations.
  • Direct and organize field personnel to maintain project schedules, safety, and quality standards.
  • Interpret architectural blueprints confidently to execute precise layouts on complex jobsites.
  • Prepare precise daily progress reports detailing labor utilization, material usage, and milestones.
  • Resolve real-time jobsite issues proactively to prevent trade conflicts and production delays.
  • Communicate effectively with general contractors and project superintendents to maintain client trust.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of proven hands-on experience and knowledge in commercial drywall and interior carpentry.
  • Strong leadership capability with a demonstrated track record of leading crews on commercial jobsites.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and accurately execute project blueprints and site layouts.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% for designated project assignments outside the local area.
  • Must be comfortable using a tablet and have basic technical proficiency.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role within commercial carpentry field operations.
  • Active certifications in safety standards, including OSHA, Fall Protection, or Lift Operations.
