Shift: Varied
Evening Shift Differential: $2.00/hour
Night Shift Differential: $2.50/hour
Hours: Varied hours Monday - Friday, rotating every third weekend (shift TBD)

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for collecting blood specimens (phlebotomy) from inpatients and outpatients and receiving other laboratory specimens, i.e., 24 hour urine containers, sputum, stool specimens and splitting of random urine specimens. Enters, verifies, and updates patient demographic and insurance information into various information systems. Responsible for performing and reporting bedside glucose testing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Six (6) months phlebotomy experience required or completion of an internship through a certified training program required.
  • Pass a written test with at least 80%.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
  • Bedside glucose and pediatric collection experience preferred.
  • Phlebotomy Certification, general computer skills, CPR and additional language skills (i.e. Spanish) preferred.
