Job Summary:
The Staff System Engineer position provides an extraordinary opportunity support our Engineering team. You will support, test and validate server/storage system level products. This role will also configure, deploy, troubleshoot, validate server/storage performance and application solutions. This position will be located in San Jose, CA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):
  • Define and develop application benchmarks based on enterprise computing requirements, generic server architecture, hardware key components, examples include Intel/AMD/Nvidia platform architecture, CPU interface, memory(DDR and LPDDR..etc) interface, PCIe interface, flashed based storage (SAS, SATA, and NVMe) interface.
  • Execute benchmark testing and build proof of concepts based on latest data center technologies and Supermicro server products such as the Supermicro SuperServers
  • Work with product managers and system engineers to draft technical marketing presentations and white papers for online publications and industry event promotional activities
  • Proactively engage in learning and researching new technologies and products to propose new Proof of Concepts
  • Work with sales and customers to provide networking solution and technical knowledge
  • Work with cross function team build and maintain CI/CD Pipelines
  • Using tool to Monitor, Logging, and Incident Response
  • Primarily revolve around automating, streamlining, and maintaining the software development and deployment lifecycle to enable faster, more reliable software releases

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in EE, CE with minimum of 8 years system engineering experiences in server products is preferred
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, System Administration, Cloud Operations, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
  • Strong Knowledge in CI/CD Tools, Cloud Platforms, Scripting & Automation, Monitoring & Logging, Networking & Security, OS Management.
  • Strong knowledge in server architecture and AMI BIOS/OS concept, and knowledge in distributed computing is a plus
  • Knowledge in benchmarks(FIO/IOMeter/HammerDB), PCIe/SATA/SATA/memory interface protocol, and database.
  • Experiences in scripting languages (Powershell, Linux Shell, Python, UEFI Shell) a plus
  • Good communication skills
  • International/domestic travel

Salary Range
$160,000 - $185,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
