Lead Sheetfed Offset Press Operator - Relocation Assistance Available

Location: Spartanburg, SC

Pay: Starting at $25.00 / hour, based on relevant experience and work history

Paid Relocation: Available for qualified candidates.

Shift Available:

  • 6:00 pm - 6:00 am (Wednesday-Friday)

Position Summary

Quad is seeking an experienced Lead Sheetfed Offset Press Operator to join our Spartanburg packaging team.

In this role, you'll lead production activities while setting up and operating advanced sheetfed offset presses to produce high-quality packaging products. You'll be responsible for press setup, quality control, troubleshooting, basic maintenance, and coordinating production activities to ensure safety, quality, and productivity goals are achieved.

Experience operating Heidelberg XL 105 or XL 106 UV presses is highly preferred. Candidates with experience operating other sheetfed offset presses are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

  • Set up and operate sheetfed offset presses according to customer specifications and production requirements.
  • Review job tickets, substrate requirements, ink specifications, and plate configurations before production.
  • Lead daily press operations and communicate production requirements to support team members.
  • Monitor press performance and make adjustments to maintain print quality and production efficiency.
  • Maintain appropriate ink, paper, plates, and material levels throughout production.
  • Perform quality inspections and complete required production documentation.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic press maintenance.
  • Conduct line clearances and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support safety initiatives, quality standards, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous lead sheetfed offset press operating experience is required.
  • Experience operating Heidelberg XL 105 or XL 106 UV presses is highly preferred; candidates with experience on other sheetfed offset equipment are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong knowledge of sheetfed offset printing processes, color management, and print quality standards.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to prioritize quality while working efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to pass a color vision assessment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately read job tickets, production specifications, and measuring devices.
  • Ability to lift 10-15 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive hand and wrist movements.
  • Ability to work overtime and on holidays as business needs require.
