Job description

Position Summary
Mock Plumbing & Mechanical is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Superintendent to oversee commercial mechanical construction projects. This leadership position is responsible for managing sheet metal operations, coordinating with project teams, ensuring jobsite safety, and delivering high-quality work on schedule and within budget.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong mechanical construction experience, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safety and team development.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of the mechanical scope of work, including sheet metal, piping, plumbing, controls, and related systems.
  • Coordinate daily with site superintendents, project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Lead field personnel while promoting professionalism, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and eliminate recognized jobsite hazards.
  • Coordinate work with other trades to maintain project schedules.
  • Review shop drawings, BIM models, and project submittals.
  • Prepare daily and weekly reports, time sheets, and project documentation.
  • Monitor job costs and assist with monthly project cost reviews.
  • Coordinate material deliveries to ensure crews have the resources needed to stay productive.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial mechanical construction.
  • Previous superintendent or field leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal installation and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead multiple crews.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with project management or estimating software is a plus.
  • HVAC and/or Plumbing licenses are preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Safety Certification required (or ability to obtain).
