ABOUT THE ROLE Allied Mechanical is looking for motivated Sheet Metal Apprentices to join our HVAC and mechanical contracting teams. This is a ground-floor opportunity to build a career in the trades — you'll work alongside experienced journeymen and foremen learning to fabricate and install ductwork, fittings, and mechanical systems across commercial and industrial job sites. If you're ready to work hard, learn fast, and build something real, we want to talk.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Assist journeymen and foremen with layout, fabrication, and installation of sheet metal ductwork and fittings
  • Learn to operate shop equipment including shears, benders, rollers, and Pittsburgh/snap lock machines under supervision
  • Help stage and load fabricated materials for transport to job sites
  • Read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and shop tickets as skills develop
  • Keep work areas clean and organized — enforce proper PPE use and follow safety protocols at all times
  • Support field crews with material handling, tool management, and general labor as directed
  • Participate in on-the-job training and any apprenticeship program coursework required by the company

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Willingness to learn the sheet metal trade and commit to a long-term career path
  • Basic mechanical aptitude — comfortable working with tools and hands-on tasks
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly and perform physical work in varying conditions (heat, heights, confined spaces)
  • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening

Preferred:

  • Some prior construction, fabrication, or trades experience — any craft welcome
  • Vocational or technical school coursework in HVAC, welding, or sheet metal
  • Familiarity with hand tools and basic measuring
  • OSHA 10 certification (construction) or ability to obtain

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Competitive starting pay — increases tied to skill development and progression
  • Medical, dental, and vision
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave
