Description

Skilled and experienced Sheet Metal Mechanics fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and structures. The ideal candidate will have over five years of hands-on experience working with sheet metal materials, a strong understanding of fabrication techniques, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.ย 


ย Key Responsibilities

  • Fabrication & Assembly: Measure, cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal parts and products using hand tools, power tools, and specialized machinery.
  • Installation: Install HVAC duct systems, roofing, siding, or other sheet metal components in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to ensure precise fabrication and installation.
  • Quality Control: Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with specifications, tolerances, and company quality standards.
  • Welding & Joining: Perform MIG/TIG welding, riveting, soldering, and other metal-joining processes as needed.
  • Maintenance & Repair: Diagnose issues, repair damaged components, and perform preventive maintenance on sheet metal systems.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures; maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other trades to complete projects efficiently and accurately.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Sheet Metal Mechanic or in a similar trade.
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
  • Proficient in sheet metal fabrication, layout, and installation
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systemsย 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and stand for extended periods.
  • Licenses/Certifications: OSHA safety training, welding certifications, or HVAC credentials a plus.
