Mental health and substance use crises don't pause at night - and neither does the care our patients deserve. As a Behavioral Health Services RN on our overnight team, you'll be a steady, skilled presence for patients navigating some of the hardest moments of their lives, building trust through every interaction and every shift.
This role calls for more than clinical skill. It calls for patience, sharp judgment under pressure, and a genuine belief that recovery is possible - paired with a team that has your back every step of the way.
A Day (or Night) in This Role
- Assess each patient's needs and build a care plan that treats the whole person
- Administer medications and carry out treatment plans with precision and care
- Step in calmly and confidently during moments of crisis, using de-escalation skills to keep patients and staff safe
- Work alongside physicians, therapists, and the broader care team for truly coordinated treatment
- Be a source of education and reassurance for patients and the families supporting them
- Help maintain a unit that feels safe, structured, and therapeutic
What You'll Bring
- A nursing degree from an accredited program
- Current Illinois RN license
- Current BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross)
- Completion of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) training within your first month
- A calm head, sharp instincts, and strong communication skills
- Clinical experience is a plus - but we welcome new graduates ready to grow into this specialty
