Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring an active CA RN license and prior travel nursing experience.
Job Details
• Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting,
• General ED serving combined adult and pediatric patient populations,
• Patient ratio of 1:4,
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30,
• Epic charting system experience required,
• Community hospital and Level II Trauma Center experience preferred,
Job Requirements
• Active CA RN license required,
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC (AHA or ARC only),
• CPI, NIHSS, and additional TNCC preferred,
• Minimum of 3 recent years of ER experience required, not including new grad residency time,
• Prior travel nursing experience required,
• Skilled in pediatric emergency care, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia management,
• Experience with arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, and starting/maintaining IVs,
• Experience managing ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, and interpreting ABGs preferred,
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation monitoring preferred,
• Experience with neuro-trauma, ICP monitoring, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury preferred,
• Experience with shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations preferred,
• Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE,
• Ortho trauma experience preferred,
• 2 references from supervisors obtained within the past year required for consideration,
Additional Information
• Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including asthma, seizures, head injuries, poison ingestion, and infections,
• Identify and report signs of neglect or abuse as part of patient care responsibilities,
• Local candidates accepted at the local rate,
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for the travel rate,
• Returning employees must have a minimum 1-year separation before returning as a traveler,
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract,
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day,
• Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing,
• First-time travelers are not specified as eligible for this position given the travel experience requirement
