Title: SharePoint Migration Engineer

Location:  New York, NY

Position Type: Contract

(4days onsite a week)

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SharePoint Migration Engineer to lead the migration and modernization of enterprise applications from SharePoint 2016 to SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE). The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in SharePoint architecture, custom solution migration, .NET development, Azure services, and SQL Server, with a strong focus on assessing, refactoring, upgrading, and deploying SharePoint solutions in modernized environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end migration initiatives from SharePoint 2016 to SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE).
  • Perform detailed assessments of existing SharePoint farms, custom solutions, third-party integrations, and legacy applications.
  • Analyze and remediate compatibility issues between SharePoint 2016 and SharePoint Subscription Edition.
  • Upgrade and refactor farm solutions, custom web parts, event receivers, workflows, and custom applications to support SharePoint SE.
  • Migrate SharePoint content databases, site collections, document libraries, workflows, permissions, and metadata.
  • Modernize legacy SharePoint solutions using supported SharePoint Subscription Edition development frameworks.
  • Develop migration strategies, runbooks, rollback plans, and deployment procedures.
  • Conduct migration testing, validation, performance tuning, and post-migration support.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage Azure services to improve scalability, security, and maintainability.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of SharePoint development and administration experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with SharePoint migration projects.
  • Strong experience migrating solutions from SharePoint 2013/2016 to SharePoint Subscription Edition.

  • Knowledge of modern SharePoint architecture and hybrid environments.
