SHAREPOINT ENGINEER job Description Summary/objective

The SharePoint Engineer performs several roles for SharePoint engagements including gathering requirements, performing assessments, troubleshooting reported issues, performing knowledge transfer, designing, building and developing solutions to solve complex busines problems. At this stage in their career, the SharePoint Engineer has deep knowledge of SharePoint (on-premises & M365) and application of job principles, theories, and concepts and is learning from those with more experience. This role interacts primarily with their immediate supervisor and other personnel within the group. They follow direction for routine work under moderate supervision and receive high level instructions for specific assignments.

Experience

Ideally, we're looking for a candidate with a development or consulting background, preferably someone who has worked with multiple disciplines in his/her background. Primarily we are seeking SharePoint experience (2-3 years) implementing and customizing on-premises and M365.

Paramount is analytical problem-solving ability with the ability to communicate ideas clearly and simply to clients -- or at least the willingness and desire to learn communication skills.

This position will be full-time with PTO and company-funded benefits, great med/dental/life insurance, etc. We do work some overtime, depending on client needs, but our typical work week is 40 hours.

Your Responsibilities
  • Creates user information solutions by developing, implementing, and maintaining SharePoint applications
  • Analyzes, designs and develops SharePoint solutions
  • Supports applications using Visual Studio .NET and SharePoint Designer, including the design and implementation of custom web parts and other programs utilizing the SharePoint object model.
  • Designs and implements custom workflows and reports in the SharePoint environment.
  • Works with Senior Software Consultants and Project Leads to define application objectives by analyzing user requirements and envisioning system features and functionality.
  • Designs and develops user interfaces to Internet/intranet applications by setting expectations and feature priorities throughout development life cycle.
  • Designs and conducts testing of the developed functionality.
  • Integrates applications by designing database architecture and server scripting; studying and establishing connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information servers.
  • Completes application development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
  • Updates job knowledge by researching new Internet/intranet technologies and software products, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
