Put Your Automotive Knowledge to Work Behind the Scenes

We're looking for automotive-minded professionals who can combine mechanical knowledge with strong computer and administrative skills to help make critical repair authorization decisions for fleet vehicles.

This role is ideal for candidates with experience as a Service Advisor, Automotive Technician, Parts Specialist, Warranty Administrator, Claims Adjuster, Fleet Maintenance Coordinator, or even a skilled mechanic or  "shade tree" mechanic who understands vehicle repairs and can confidently navigate multiple computer systems.

What You'll Do

As a Vehicle Repair Authorization Specialist, you'll review repair requests submitted by service and maintenance shops and determine the most appropriate and cost-effective course of action while ensuring vehicles remain safe and road-ready.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review service orders, technician notes, diagnostics, photos, and repair recommendations.
  • Determine whether repairs should be completed at the component level or require full part replacement.
  • Verify repair requests align with vehicle specifications, failure symptoms, mileage, and client guidelines.
  • Authorize, deny, or request additional information on repair orders.
  • Document decisions with clear, detailed notes for auditing and quality purposes.
  • Monitor pending orders and follow up to maintain vehicle uptime and service-level expectations.
  • Identify unusual repair trends, excessive part replacement requests, or potential misuse.
  • Collaborate with quality, operations, and client management teams to improve repair decision processes.
  • Maintain accurate records and performance metrics using multiple systems and databases.
What We're Looking For
  •  1+ years of recent automotive experience.
  • Background in vehicle repair, fleet maintenance, service advising, warranty claims, parts departments, estimating, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of automotive systems and vehicle repair processes.
  • Comfortable working in multiple computer applications simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to analyze information, follow policies, and document decisions accurately.
  • Strong written communication and organizational skills.
Ideal Backgrounds
  • Automotive Technician
  • Service Advisor
  • Warranty Claims Processor
  • Fleet Maintenance Coordinator
  • Mechanical Estimator
  • Insurance Auto Claims Adjuster
  • Experienced  Shade Tree Mechanic with strong administrative skills
Why You'll Like This Role
  • Use your automotive expertise without the physical demands of shop work.
  • Office-based environment with career growth potential.
  • Fast-paced work that combines technical knowledge, problem solving, and customer support.
  • Opportunity to influence repair costs while helping keep vehicles operating safely and efficiently.
