Job Details Description

Effectively manages the care of assigned patients using knowledge, clinical skills, judgment and decision making skills for the specific area.

Delivers patient care utilizing guidelines of care and appropriate resources, including personnel, services, supplies and equipment in a fiscally responsible manner to include an active role in capturing patient charges.

Reviews, evaluates and takes appropriate action regarding results of diagnostic tests. Administers medications according to Health System policy.

Assist with patient flow by registering patients and assisting with other patient care duties as needed.

Assists other healthcare professionals in performing exams, diagnostic procedures and treatments, and minor medical procedures. Communicates provider advice/instructions.

Assists the clinical team in performing the nursing assessment to identify and prioritize physical, psychosocial and cultural needs in order to develop a plan of care.

Evaluates and reassesses nursing interventions based on interdisciplinary plan of care and makes revisions as appropriate.

Assists with the development and implementation of a patient/family education plan. Documents assessments, interventions, patient/family responses, medication reconciliation, and test results in the medical record.

Participates in the Health System's compliance program.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education - High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience - Healthcare experience preferred.

Licensure - Medical Assistant Certification or equivalent required (i.e. EMT).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Ability to perform patient care functions delegated under the State law. Exhibits positive interpersonal skills. Uses good judgment. Demonstrates professional growth and development. American Heart Association BLS Certification required within first week of orientation and maintained throughout employment.

Qualifications Experience

High school diploma or equivalent. Healthcare experience preferred.
