Job description

Job Description: Responsible for providing timely, trauma-informed, forensic medical care as needed to sexual assault survivors. This is a contracted position, utilized on an "as needed" basis.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Perform medical forensic examinations to sexual assault survivors, male and female, ages 13 and older.
2. Collect and store forensic evidence in accordance with applicable state and agency policies and procedures.
3. Take digital photographs as part of evidence documentation.
4. Obtain informed consent and interview sexual assault survivors to determine best course of treatment.
5. Provide prophylactic care as needed to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.
6. Provide referrals for medical follow up if needed.
7. Ensure medical supplies are ordered when required through the Sexual Assault Services Coordinator
8. Participate in legal proceedings when required.
Job Requirements:
1. Active Florida RN license.
2. Maintain BLS certification.
3. SANE-A trained.
4. Ability to work with survivors of sexual violence and participate in a 24/7 program.
5. Must pass an extensive background check, drug screening, have a valid driver's license and maintain access to reliable transportation.
