Job description

Swope, Rodante P.A. is seeking a highly motivated trial attorney with more than 2 years of experience to join our firm in Ybor City, Florida. This is an opportunity to represent individuals who have suffered a catastrophic injury, families who have lost a loved one, and consumers who have been victimized by their insurance company or lawyers.

Our firm is at the cutting edge of the law, and we routinely handle appeals on novel legal issues, including appeals to the Florida Supreme Court and Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

You will gain meaningful responsibility from day one, with the support of a collaborative, experienced team committed to excellence and results.

Who You Are:

  • A member of the Florida Bar in good standing with more than 2 years of experience
  • Have experience in civil litigation, preferably with trial experience in commercial litigation, medical malpractice, products liability, or other complex civil litigation
  • Have strong academic credentials and demonstrated analytical ability
  • Detail-oriented, with a commitment to producing exceptional work product
  • Interested in complex and evolving legal issues, including those that may challenge existing precedent
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
  • A team-oriented professional who is engaged, receptive to mentorship, and actively contributes
  • Driven, hardworking, and committed to achieving outstanding results for clients
  • A quick and adaptable thinker who thrives in a litigation environment

Who We Are:

  • A boutique firm of 13 attorneys supported by approximately 35 staff members
  • Focused on catastrophic, life-altering injury cases, insurance bad faith, and legal malpractice
  • A firm with a well-earned reputation for conquering injustice and securing hundreds of millions of dollars in recovery for our clients
  • Recognized leaders with decades of collective experience in our field
  • A firm that values collaboration, ingenuity, and passion for our clients and our cause.
  • Rely almost exclusively on referrals from other attorneys and former clients

What We Offer:

  • A strong salary (amount depending on experience) for in-office candidate, plus the potential for end-of-year bonus
  • Competitive benefits, including health and dental insurance coverage, short-term and long-term disability coverage, paid membership dues to various professional associations, and an additional professional development budget
  • A variety of perks to show our appreciation for our employees’ hard work and dedication, including an onsite gym, fitness classes, car washes, dry cleaning service, massage therapy, and firm lunches and social events
  • Mentorship, training opportunities, and a path to advancement
  • No billable hour requirement! Our work is primarily contingency fee based, which means we do not have traditional billable hours. However, we greatly value in-office presence and collaboration—our form of “billable” hour requirement
  • A small, close-knit team where every member is valued for their strengths and contributions to our firm.

If you meet the qualifications listed above, and we sound like a good fit for you, please submit a cover letter, resume, and writing sample.

Employees have rights under Federal Employment Laws: Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), and Employee Polygraph Protection Act (EPPA).
