Job description

THE ROLE

Avocado is currently looking for a Technician to be part of the Operations Team. You will be reporting to the Project Manager.

The Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving existing equipment, new equipment, and infrastructure. Some tasks include but are not limited to: Troubleshooting and repairing sewing machines, CNCs, wood working machines, and packing machines. Electrical understanding is necessary to ensure safe practices around the equipment. The individual must be able to identify parts, find id numbers, use manuals, basic computer skills, and place order as needed.

*Note on Location: Here at Avocado Green Brands, we treasure teamwork and working together in person. Depending on the role, you will be working on-site at one of our Fullerton locations.

*Note on Pay Transparency:. The pay range for this role is $23.00 - $26.75 Hourly.


WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON

  • Repair, install, troubleshoot, and maintain Machinery.

  • Troubleshoot hydraulics, electronics, software, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

  • Identify and replace parts as necessary.

  • Complete testing and adjust parts as needed.

  • Complete planned and preventative procedures.

  • Perform building maintenance and improvements.

  • Operate forklifts and scissor lifts.

  • Work at elevated heights installing air systems and ducts.

  • Be able to operate maintenance equipment, saws, drill, pneumatic powered tools, yard maintenance equipment, among others

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with interface controls (PLCs, HMIs).

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems (tanks, compressors, regulators, lines, pistons, valves, etc)

  • Must have an eye for detail and strong working knowledge of their machines' capabilities.

  • Demonstrated a high degree of industrial mechanical and electrical aptitude and repair abilities

  • Follow company safety culture and Cal OSHA regulations.

  • Report incident injury and hazards to managers.

  • Able to identify work hazard situations.

  • Following the company safety culture while performing the job duties required for the position.

  • Ability to effectively communicate internally and externally.

  • Regular and predictable attendance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear, hearing protection, safety glasses, and respirators or masks most of the day.

  • Must be comfortable working in an environment with machinery noise and wood dust.

  • Stationary position:

    • Must be able to remain stationary 50% of the time.

  • Movements:

    • Must be able to move throughout the woodshop to access different machines.

    • Must be able to operate woodshop machinery.

    • Must be able to frequently move material weighing up to 50 pounds.
