Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):
To assist with creation and maintenance of the costumes for the Theater and Dance Department productions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in construction and alteration of all costume elements for the Theater and Dance Department mainstage productions.
- Maintain, launder, and repair costumes during the run of the performances
- Assist in maintaining costume stock
- Assist in general shop upkeep
Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)
Preferred:
- Some knowledge of costume construction
- Some knowledge of hand and machine sewing techniques
Required:
-Interest in sewing and a desire to learn these skills
Physical and Environmental Factors:
This position requires crouching, stooping, twisting/pivoting, climbing/balancing, reaching overhead, grasping/handling, pushing/pulling, lifting and carrying objects up to 20 lbs., repetitive motions, operating hand tools, and operating equipment or machinery to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to loud noise, respiratory factors, chemicals, wet or humid conditions indoors, proximity hazards, and heights or cramped quarters to perform the essential functions. Protective equipment is required for some essential functions. Candidates must possess the ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
