Job description

Overview:

Exceptional opportunity to join our outstanding Neonatology Group in Austin, TX!

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a neonatal nurse practitioner (NNP) to join our team of dedicated neonatologists, NNPs, and pediatricians to provide excellent care to the patients of Austin, Texas and its surrounding areas. Our team cares for infants at our state-of-the-art Level IV NICU at Dell Children s Medical Center, a leading provider of pediatric care in Central Texas. We also provide specialized care for infants requiring Level II and Level III NICU services at our multiple Ascension Seton Hospitals.

Clinical responsibilities include prenatal and newborn consultations, attendance of high-risk deliveries and comprehensive management of neonates in the NICU and newborn nurseries throughout our multiple hospital units.

Additional Details:

  • Level I nursery and Level II, Level III and Level IV NICUs
  • Medical services include HFOV, nitric oxide, and total body cooling
  • NICU supported by strong MFM program and pediatric sub-specialties
  • Neonatologists remain in-house at the Level III and IV units
  • Cohesive and collegial group with very low turnover
  • Numerous opportunities for NNP development: education, mentoring, quality improvement, research, policy development, leadership
  • Experienced providers and new graduates are welcome to apply
  • Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin, Texas featured in the 2023 U.S. News and World Report (USN&WR) rankings of the top 50 "Best Children's Hospitals"

Our practice is quickly growing alongside the city of Austin, with these recent additions:

  • Special Delivery Unit at Dell Children s Medical Center, one of the few delivery centers in the nation attached to a children s hospital
  • Comprehensive Fetal Care Center
  • Neonatal Fellowship Program established July 2022
  • Partnership with UT Dell Medical School
  • Rapidly expanding neonatal cardiac services
  • Point of care ultrasound (POCUS) capabilities
  • Network wide, data driven, interdisciplinary simulation program

Practice coverage spans multiple sites, but your specific sites would be determined at the time of your hiring.

  • Dell Children s Medical Center of Central Texas, Level IV unit, with private rooms for neonatal surgical services, cardiac services, advanced imaging procedures, and many pediatric medical sub-specialties
  • Ascension Seton Medical Center of Austin, Level III unit, with a brand new, state-of-the-art women and infant s tower under development
  • Ascension Seton Hays, Level II unit
  • Ascension Seton Williamson, Level II unit
  • Ascension Seton Northwest Hospital, Level II unit
  • Ascension Providence, Level II unit
  • Cedar Park Regional Medical Center, Level II unit
  • Ascension Seton Harker Heights, Level I nursery
