The Strategic Technology Analysis Group, part of SPA's Space and Intelligence Division, offers sophisticated capabilities (people, process & tools) to resolve unique problems in space, cyber, and special operations in support to military services, Secretary of Defense offices (OSD) and theater warfighters. SPA has an immediate need for a Test Engineer - Long-Range Weapon Systems.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide matrixed Test & Evaluation (T&E) planning and scheduling expertise across multiple new long-range missile programs. The SETA contractor will work closely with program managers, cross-functional teams, and test range stakeholders to develop comprehensive test strategies, coordinate range resources, and ensure test events validate system performance and military utility. This role emphasizes the synchronization of complex, multi-system test schedules with rapid prototyping milestones to ensure the timely delivery of advanced capabilities to the warfighter.
  • Lead matrixed Test & Evaluation (T&E) planning, scheduling, and execution support across multiple long-range missile development and prototyping efforts.
  • Coordinate with national test ranges, transition partners, and safety organizations to secure resources, schedule test events, and ensure compliance with range requirements.
  • Assist in the development, review, and execution of Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP), detailed test procedures, and range support plans.
  • Track and manage test configurations, instrumentation requirements, and data collection plans for complex flight tests and ground demonstrations.
  • Synthesize test results and analytical data to inform ongoing system development requirements, validation planning, and programmatic decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and validate complex DoD systems, advanced weapon systems, and C4ISR equipment.
  • Participate in project reviews, assesses contract deliverables, and coordinate with technical review boards on decisions with broad program impact.
  • Maintain cognizance of the programs adherence to processes in the development, production, and test of system-level and sub-system products.
  • Maintain cognizance over technical activities within project sub-IPTs and ensure horizontal integration of the practices across the project.
  • Review Vendor Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) to ensure product plans and test events will reach delivery times according to the overall project schedule.
  • Work with the Program Management team and Chief Engineer to understand priorities and drive project execution in alignment with those priorities.
  • Develop presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain test plans, readiness status, and outcomes to program management and all stakeholders.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance at time of application
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical discipline preferred
  • 10+ years supporting DoW operations and/or programs
  • Able to support routine local travel, occasional CONUS/OCONUS travel
  • Able to work full-time in a Chantilly VA office within SCIF/SAPF spaces
