Job description

Piper Companies is seeking an AFSO / CSSO in the Reston VA area to support a leading organization within the government and national security sector. This is a long-term, open-ended contract opportunity supporting classified programs and secure facilities. The AFSO / CSSO will play a critical role in personnel, physical, and industrial security operations, ensuring compliance with federal security regulations while supporting secure facility growth initiatives and classified contract administration. This is a long-term open-ended contract opportunity and the AFSO / CSSO will need to sit onsite 5 days a week in the Reston VA area. Responsibilities of the AFSO / CSSO: * Manage assigned classified programs, including onboarding, offboarding, clearance processing, visit requests, and overall contract security administration.
* Support physical security operations, including SCIF construction and expansion efforts, secure area inspections, escorting personnel and visitors, and enforcement of classified material handling procedures.
* Administer personnel security activities utilizing DISS, NBIS, SWFT, eAPP, and other government security systems while supporting clearance investigations and adjudication-related actions.
* Conduct employee security briefings, indoctrinations, debriefings, training sessions, self-inspections, incident inquiries, and vulnerability assessments.
* Ensure compliance with NISP, ICD, DD254 contract requirements, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) standards, and NIST security frameworks while maintaining audit-ready security records.
Qualifications of the AFSO / CSSO: * Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph is required.
* 5+ years of experience supporting industrial security, personnel security, physical security, or classified program security functions.
* Hands-on experience with DISS and personnel security processing, including clearance management and access administration.
* Knowledge of NISPOM requirements, DD254 administration, contract security requirements, CUI implementation, and NIST security standards.
Compensation for the AFSO / CSSO includes: * Salary range: $105,000 - $128,000
* Long-term open-ended contract opportunity with potential for extension
