Job description


This selected candidate will provide drafting and documentation support for NAWC WOLF. In this role, you will support a team creating and updating Technical Data Packages using Solid Works 3D parametric software and AutoCAD 2D and 3D computer-aided design (CAD) software applications by Autodesk.
Job Duties:
  • Create and modify detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and occasional other forms of technical illustration software.
  • Works closely with the Customer, Engineers, Technicians and other CAD Operators to capture design or revise existing documentation and attend meetings.
  • Works independently as well as in a collective team effort to effect changes to design and/or documentation.
  • Able to keep configuration management of the tasking, files and correspondences as required to complete the task in a quick and orderly fashion.
  • Perform a variety of moderate and complex tasks and have the ability to use variety of tools to include but not limited to, calipers, gauges, tape measure, ruler, 3D printer, and other mechanical devices to aid in design and development and verification of products.
  • Prepare or update Maintenance Instruction Document illustrations.
  • Incorporate mark-ups into electronic format
The hourly rate for this position is set by the Department of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $30.40/hr (III) or $37.41/hr (IV). Job leveling will be determined during the interview.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
Required Skills and Education
Associate degree in a field of study related to Drafting or CAD operation and a minimum of 2 years of related experience OR High School Diploma and 6 years of related experience
Experience with electrical or mechanical drafting and design
