Job description

Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) - Spravato Treatment Clinician (Part-Time, On-Site/Hybrid) - Psychiatric Experience preferred

Location: Evanston, IL
Schedule: Part-time / 1099 Contractor
Organization: Journey Clinical

Journey Clinical is hiring an NP/PA to conduct psychiatric intake evaluations and provide in-person monitoring for Spravato (esketamine nasal spray) sessions hosted at partner therapist offices. This is a great opportunity for a clinician who enjoys structured outpatient care, values patient experience, and wants to expand access to evidence-based treatment for depression.

Spravato sessions are delivered in small cohorts (3-4 patients) and require 2+ hours of on-site monitoring in accordance with FDA REMS requirements.

This role offers the opportunity to participate in the growing field of psychedelic and innovative mental health treatments in a flexible clinical environment.

What You'll Do
  • Conduct psychiatric intake evaluations and screening to determine Spravato eligibility

  • Prescribe Spravato and initiate documentation for insurance prior authorization

  • Provide on-site clinical support during Spravato dosing sessions (patients self-administer nasal spray)

  • Monitor patients during the observation period (vitals, safety checks, symptom monitoring)

  • Complete required documentation accurately and on time

  • Coordinate with Journey Clinical operations and partner sites to ensure smooth patient flow

  • Support a calm, safe environment for small cohorts (typically 3-4 patients per session block)

Schedule & Location
  • Part-time / per-diem (1099 contractor)

  • Sessions often scheduled evenings/weekends (varies by site)

  • Travel to partner therapist offices within an agreed-upon radius

Required Qualifications
  • Active NP or PA license in the state of practice

  • Current, unrestricted DEA registration

  • Willingness to register/associate your DEA registration to partner site address(es) as needed for Spravato operations

  • Comfort with outpatient monitoring and responding to clinical changes (e.g., blood pressure changes, anxiety, dissociation)

  • Strong documentation skills and reliability with protocols

  • Willingness to complete required program training (Spravato REMS-related processes)

  •
  • Ideal candidates will have psychiatry experience; ketamine/esketamine, TMS, infusion, or other monitoring workflows

Compensation
  • Competitive hourly/per-session rate
