Job Overview
Maintain equipment in the best possible running condition with minimum downtime and cost. Perform journeyman-level work in the design, installation, construction, modification, repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in “downs”; meetings; projects; and work on specific work orders as needed
  • Assist with maintenance initiatives and monitor the compliance of all safety policies
  • Co-manage the Fire /Security system at the facility
  • Manage the general facility maintenance-i.e., Snow removal; lawn/landscape maintenance; HVAC
  • Actively participate in the ongoing training within the department for each employee
  • Clearly communicate to all crews and shifts the events of the shift to ensure a smooth and highly productive handoff from shift to shift
  • Facilitate resolution of problems that may arise within the Maintenance area and bring unresolved issues to the Production Manager
  • Understand bearing removal and installation practices
  • Pipefitting skills and proficiency at using hand tools, portable electric tools, and stationary shop equipment
  • Value in preventive and predictive maintenance practices such as daily rounds and lubrication
  • Practice/understand rigging fundamentals
  • Ability to go online and troubleshoot and advanced PLC programming
  • Knowledge of contactors and starters, motors, and motor controls
  • Installing and maintaining various electrical controls and automation
  • Wiring 460/230-volt 3 phase motors
  • Understanding of servo, hydraulic and pneumatically actuated equipment
  • Installs machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings in an industrial establishment
  • Experienced with electric motors from fractional hp to 600 hp including servo driven motors
  • Repair belt, chain, and sprocket conveyor systems
  • Possess introductory electrical aptitude, willing to grow in the electrical field
  • Responsible for all other tasks as assigned

Required Experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Have good mechanical aptitude and machine operating skills
  • Be willing to work various hours depending on production and training schedules
  • Technical or Vocational degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Manufacturing or Paper Converting experience is preferred
