What We're Looking For:

  • High school graduate or equivalent education is preferred
  • Minimally two years of experience in commercial cooking or healthcare food preparation is required 
  • One-year of Food Service Coordinator experience and Certified Food Service Manager Certification required 
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred 
  • Ability to prepare/handle food using safe food handling practices 
  • Basic math skills and knowledge of weights and measures required 
  • Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions 
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions 
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, provide instruction and train other employees as required 
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision 
  • Ability to read and speak English

  • Works closely with the Dining Services Team to ensure the highest level of dining services to residents, visitors and NLCS employees 
  • Trains workers in performance of duties 
  • Supervise tray assembly process 
  • Assigns cleaning schedules 
  • Supervises nourishment preparation and distribution 
  • Other duties as assigned
