Operations Support (Temporary)
Water Quality Division
Hourly Rate: $20-$23
(Assignment: Temporary position, up to thirty weeks, possible ext.)

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Operations Support Temporary Hire is responsible for performing tasks from simple and repetitive to more challenging and difficult. Assignments are performed independently as well as in conjunction with other employees and may involve tasks to be learned on the job. Works on Operations Support (O/S) crew to perform manual labor installing, repairing and maintaining wastewater treatment plant infrastructure. Work is mainly performed under the guidance of the O/S Manager, who assigns work and checks completion. The Temporary Hire receives supervision from the O/S Manager, O/S Assistant Manager, and other employees.
Must be able to handle physical requirements of position to include extensive walking, bending, stooping, climbing of stairs and ladders, lifting and carrying of up to 75 pounds. Must be able to follow verbal instructions and complete assigned tasks with intermittent supervision. Follow all safety rules and regulations and practices preventive safety measures. Ability to work in a dusty environment with exposure to hot, cold, or rainy weather. Ability to safely and effectively operate in a fast-paced production environment. Must have a positive attitude.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
Completion of high school or a GED is required. General knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions applicable to maintenance and repair work.
Training will be provided!
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This position is considered Full-Time, Temporary and does not offer UOSA benefits and/or paid holidays. Possession of a vehicle operator's license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia is desirable. Approximately 40 hours per week, days of the week and hours are flexible.
