The Service Operations Support Administrator – Consumer Hardware Quality Control is primarily responsible for hands-on testing and evaluation of customer devices within an RMA/triage environment. This role ensures comprehensive assessment and awareness of material issues and trends, providing a criticalΒ componentΒ of a closed-loop quality control program that supportsΒ CustomerΒ Service,Β Manufacturing,Β ProductΒ Management, andΒ Engineering functions.Β Β 

What This Role Does:Β 

  • Partners closely with Product Management, Engineering, and IT Quality Assurance organizations to develop,Β maintain, andΒ execute deviceΒ testing strategies and proceduresΒ for theΒ purposesΒ of evaluating consumer hardware devices being returned.Β 
  • PerformsΒ handson testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and evaluation of customer devices toΒ identifyΒ hardware defects, software issues, and configuration errors.Β Β 
  • MaintainsΒ andΒ operatesΒ a device testing laboratory, including test equipment, configurations, and environmental standards.Β Β 
  • PerformsΒ remote system testing, diagnostics, configuration changes, and repairs using remote access tools and mobile device management systems.Β Β 
  • Develops, configures, andΒ maintainsΒ event alert thresholds, triggers, dashboards, widgets, and reports within event and monitoring systems (Firebase, Count.ly, Datadog, etc.).Β Β 
  • Escalates, monitors, tracks, documents, and reportsΒ on incidents, service requests, and devicerelated issues using Incident Management Systems such as Jira and ServiceNow.Β Β 
  • Develops,Β maintains, and conductsΒ User Acceptance Testing (UAT) procedures and environments for product, hardware, and service releases.Β Β

What You Will Bring:Β 

  • Bachelor’sΒ degree inΒ informationΒ technology,Β computerΒ scienceΒ or equivalentΒ isΒ required.Β Equivalent combinations of education and relevant work experience will be considered.Β 
  • A minimum of three (3)Β years of experience in a professional Service Desk, Help Desk, Systems Administration, Telephony Support, or Telephone Testing environment thatΒ complies withΒ FCC, CE and UL rules and regulationsΒ isΒ required.Β Β 
  • A minimum of three (3)Β years ofΒ experienceΒ troubleshooting and diagnosing consumer hardware and software issues, including PSTN and VoIPbased devicesΒ isΒ required.Β Β 
  • PreviousΒ experience building orΒ leveragingΒ testability hooks, mocks, simulators, and test harnesses.Β Β 
  • ProficiencyΒ with modems, routers, VoIP, DNS, VPN, TCP/IP, DHCP, Android OS applications,Β APKΒ and SDK methodologiesΒ required.Β Β 
  • Experience with event monitoring systems, remote device management tools, and incident management platforms.Β Β 
  • Experience working in a technology or communications company that supports SaaS or internetbased products and services.Β Β 
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows OS (Linux terminal experienceΒ a plus).Β Β
